when is the greater gulf state fair?

The 2017 Greater Gulf State Fair will take place from October 27 – November 5.

what time does the fair open and close?

In an effort to provide our guests with the best possible experience The Grounds is proud to announce that we have extended our operating hours on the weekends.

what are the admission prices for the fair?

Discount Admission Tickets are available online and at select area Walgreen's locations.

Adults (ages 11+): $8

Children (ages 2-10): $4

Regular Gate Admission:

Adults (ages 11+): $10

Children (ages 2-10): $5

Children (ages 2 and under): FREE!

what is a "ride all day" ticket and how does it work?

The ride all day armband allows each guest to pay one price and ride as many rides as they desire for that one day. Each guest will require their own ticket. Ride all day armbands are $20 in advance. Onsite price will be announced soon. Unlike the old midnight madness pass this ride all day ticket is eligible to be used once, any of the 10 days of the Fair. A separate admission ticket is required and is not included in the price of the ride all day ticket.

where can i buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased at participating Walgreens locations and online. By purchasing early, you can save over $5.00! Tickets ware still available during the Fair at participating Walgreens and online. By purchasing at Walgreens, you can take advantage of the “Walgreens’ Express Line” at our front entrance. Be sure to save time and money at Walgreens!

where can i park?

There are acres and acres of free parking located on south and east sides of the property. Handicapped parking is available immediately in front of the main entrance.

Preferred parking is available for $5.00 on weekdays and $10 on the weekends. Preferred parking is located directly in front of the main entrance to the Fair.

are pets allowed at the fair?

During the Fair, the only animals allowed on grounds are those that align with the ADA’s service animal classification for animals specifically trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA and are therefore not allowed on grounds during the Fair.

is smoking allowed at the fair?

The 2016 Greater Gulf State Fair is a non-smoking event. Smoking is permitted in designated smoking areas located throughout the vent. Bins are conveniently located along the pathway before entering the Fair so that all butts may be disposed of in their proper containers.

can i bring my own food or beverages?

Outside food/beverages are not allowed unless needed for medical purposes.

Formula, milk and food for infants/toddlers is permitted.

are concealed weapons allowed on the grounds?

Knives and Guns are prohibited on The Grounds, with or without a valid Alabama permit to carry. Failure to comply with this rule shall result in removal from The Grounds.

does the fair have private areas for nursing mothers?

The 2016 Fair will once again feature a “Family Center” located just to the west of Family Land. The Family Center provides parents and children with a safe, comfortable, and private atmosphere. Rocking chairs, a microwave for warming bottles, and diaper changing stations are also provided.

where can i find ride height requirements?

Height requirements are found next to each ride on the “size wise” chart. Please be advised that children under 42” may be required to ride some of the rides with a paying adult.

what if someone gets lost?

Lost persons will be brought to the Safety Center located next to the Agricultural Museum.

where is first aid available?

First Aid is available directly behind the Safety Center located next to the Agricultural Museum. If you experience a true emergency during your time at the Fair dial 9-1-1. EMS are located on-site and will be dispatched accordingly.

what if i have to leave – can i come back?

A hand stamp and an admission ticket are required for re-entry.

what is a midway access pass?

Avoid long lines by purchasing a Midway Access Pass. This pass will get you into a special “front of the line” line on most midway rides. Get the most value out of your Fair experience by combining your Midway Access Pass with a Ride All Day Pass. A valid RIDE ALL DAY wristband or ride coupons is required in conjuction with this Access Pass.
